What was I thinking? How could I have possibly thought that it was at all achievable to work on not one, not two, but three stories in the month of September? When I have yet to get one book through to the final draft?

I guess I was so excited to get to the next part--to provide you all with some quality reading material and incredible characters to obsess about--that I slipped on my rose-colored glasses for a minute.

But, I need to be more realistic with my time. And the reality is: my current life situation makes it possible for only so much to get accomplished in a day. I need to remember that.

So--how has my plan changed? September arrived and I quickly realized...well, see above...and I switched up my plan. New plan: finish the newsletter exclusive novel by October 31st. Totally doable.

And while I really wanted to work on BOOK ONE...I simply wasn't ready. It needs to sit...and it needs A LOT of changes. And I needed positive, fast, forward momentum.

The newsletter exclusive novel is exactly what I needed--something fun, that sparks my creativity, and gets me pumped for what's to come. I'm having such a great

time writing it for you all, and I cannot wait to hear what you think of it when it's ready. One of my favorite things about it? It's exclusive and just for all of you newsletter subscribers. I love that. I love writing something as a gift to everyone who is kind enough to take a chance on me and my books.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

After a few days...and several (dozens of) hours...the *second* and official version of cristinecourcy.com is complete. Now, all that's missing are the links to the newsletter and book blurbs...but that won't come until at least December.

I won't even be "publishing" the website until then...because, while the design is complete, without the newsletter links, it'll just be frustrating. Just like my grammar is probably frustrating...I'm sorry about that.

But, overall, I'm happy with it. The website, I mean. Really. I love it, actually, and I hope you do, too.

Now on to the next step in my indie author career...more writing.

Tomorrow is September 1st...the day I start typing my finger pads off (again) in the hopes that this time, this time, I'll have a decent draft of BOOK ONE. In addition to that, I'm going to be drafting BOOK TWO...and the free (exclusive) book for all my newsletter subscribers. {This little freebie has been really fun to plot and I'm super stoked to get it done and out to everyone who signs up.}

I just had to take a super big breath...this is it...I'm on the path to make my dreams a reality. It's huge. And I just hope I end up with something that I can be proud of...and this time next year, I'll be able to say..."Wow. You did it. I'm proud of you."

And now I have Bright Eyes singing in my head...

I've always been bad at blogs...I've been starting and stopping them since 2004 when Livejournal was a thing.

You remember Livejournal?

Gosh, that was awesome.

But, anyways...this blog will be different (I say for the zillionth time). Here you'll be able to get updates on my writing process, book status changes, and whatever else I think might interest you. I can't promise the spelling will be on point, or that the grammar will be spot on...but I can promise you that the writing will be genuine and from my heart.

I'd love to know if you have any suggestions for keeping up with a blog. Have you ever started and failed a blog? I know I'm not the only one. But most importantly - tell me in the comments if you ever had a Livejournal. Or a(n) Xanga account! What was your handle?

psst! I'm going to keep this website constantly updated, but newsletter subscribers will always find things out first...so I can't suggest it enough-- sign up for my newsletter. (You can get an exclusive free book, too)
